Back in the day I used to have a podcast that was just two dudes. It was good. Then we added a woman. It got exponentially better. Turns out different perspectives improve your product. In other words, anyone who responds with "all that matters is game quality" is getting blocked

Of course we didn't add Maddy because she's a woman - we added her because she's a great podcaster, which is inextricable from her identity. Like how my personality and perspectives were shaped by growing up Jewish and Kirk's were shaped by only dying seven times in Returnal

The thing is you don't. Stack Overflow in their 2021 survey revealed that 5.31% of developers were female, whilst 91.67% were male and the rest non-binary or not disclosed. Then only 3.38% being black or of African descent. There is just a lack of diversity in general, it's sad.
