Been hearing secondhand whispers tonight from several devs/pubs that E3 is cancelled, although I've also heard from a couple of people in positions to know that the ESA hasn't officially made a decision yet and is still consulting with pubs. Either way, it's only a matter of timehttps://twitter.com/devolverdigital/status/1237544646475051016 …

Heard from two people that E3 cancellation will be announced tomorrow AM (both secondhand), and one person w/ ESA ties who insists that it won't be. Normally I sit on conflicting info until I sort out what's true, but with E3 rumors now everywhere, figured I'd be transparent here

But, again, whether or not it's announced tomorrow morning, it's only a matter of time before E3 is officially cancelled. Publishers can't afford to wait much longer to make their plans, and all signs point to the virus getting way worse in the U.S. before it gets better

I feel like you all wanted E3 to die. Looks like you may get your wish.

The last thing I wanted was for E3 to die. I live across the country from many of my friends and colleagues, and getting to see them in LA every June (as well as meet new awesome people) is a yearly highlight for me.

What will the publishers do, stream the conferences online?

Honestly, that is probably the better option in general, I'm on the opinion that other companies should just follow the Nintendo direct strategy, it's objectively better than making having a whole stage presentation, also with this format you can just avoid the cringe

Should we press "F" in the chat for E3 for good then?

Why would devs/pubs have this inclination? They sent us an email today saying hotel booking was open for exhibitors and the event was still happening? Why open the hotel booking if the event is on the cusp on cancelation?

Everyone is pretending their event isn't cancelled until it is. It's extremely annoying. Like, I get the cost implications (they exist for us too) but the song and dance of will it won't it is getting boring
