FWIW I'd way rather be in this position -- scared but informed -- than in the dark, the way Activision left all of its employees for months even as layoff rumors swirled. Would be nice to see more labor laws that force corporations to provide proper warning before mass layoffs

they went through their downsizing 6-7 years ago i think. they've also had a voluntary redundancy program in place for years. think they were actually the test ground for the rest of Blizzard.

This isn't a euphemism - French labor law (Code du travail) is notoriously complicated. Few people understand it, and I believe it's long been a point of discussion in France how indecipherable it is
