    , 71 today. His 1st screen appearance came in 1951 & he received the 1st of 7 Oscar nominations for The Last Picture Show (1971). He is beloved as The Dude in The Big Lebowski (1998) & got an Oscar for Crazy Heart (2009) but what's his best role?

    9 unarmed black Americans killed by the police this year vs ~7,000 annual black homicide victims a year. But from an ideological lens 9 > 7,000. Of course killing by the state is different than a repeated violent offender doing the same — but the numbers are not remotely close.

    Abolishing police in high crime neighborhoods has resulted in mass death from skyrocketing crime -- but the victims are working class people in poor cities like Baltimore. Lives only matter when they fit a simple political narrative. Crime is morally complex, so it is ignored.

    Why not just base all U.S. policy on traumatic videos? Definitely the thoughtful way to understand the millions upon millions of police interactions that are not abusive in any way, let's take the viral outliers and make sweeping claims.
