@cavanscott Kids are more intelligent and clever than many adults give them credit for. And, often, can handle trauma better than adults. -
Instead of just “don’t” or “no”, parents explained why. “If you run into the street, you’ll never see mommy and daddy again.” Sheer terror.

That’s one of the feelings that I most remember from being a kid. It was SO frustrating being implicitly condescended to by media I was “supposed” to think was for me.
