Ad Astra was 1-2 teachers and 8 kids in the beginning. That, plus any comfortable space, and you can have a school. You could probably do that on $1,000/month per kid, if you set it up in someone's home and the kids already had their own computers

Super fascinating question to be sure. There are people in my alternative parenting community already interested in alt education and talking about homeschooling. Also I’ve heard of community organized preschools and such.

Another interesting question is whether it could somehow be combined with coworking for remote parents. There’s already a space, Equal Play down in San Mateo, working to combine coworking with childcare
