I am very disappointed with Facebook's view on data transparency and openness -- especially in regards to their API and how restrictive it has become over the years. I understand they are a business and have intellectual property to secure, but it would be nice if they would work

more closely with the academic community to help further research and have open discussion about balancing user privacy with open transparency.
