Some schools in Florida tomorrow will be closed for a "snow day". Seriously - WTF?? I partially went to college in Edmonton - there were days the snow was deeper than I am tall -- no schools were closed! I thought Floridians were tougher than that.

No plows, no snowsuits, no history of driving in it, possibly no heat in the schools....

Yeah this should be pretty self-evident. Florida absolutely has no infrastructure at all to deal with snow, so even a dusting could cause a lot of accidents. I'm surprised NOAA doesn't understand this.
Also, given the way EVERY YEAR the drivers in Boston react as though they've never seen the stuff before, I shudder to think how a really inexperienced population would suffer.
