I am ingesting every tweet mentioning Irma or Hurricane on the twitter stream (currently 50 a second). Will make available to reseachers.

I will let this run until Irma is dead -- should be millions of tweets easily.

Good question. This is via the regular streaming API which allows for ~ 1% of all tweets by volume. So far I haven't gotten any messages..

.. stating that it is dropping tweets. I'm sure when it hits, it will probably drop some. But usually I can get up to 100-150 a second.

Ah didn't realize it would at least tell you when there was downsampling happening. Thought that was a silent risk to using the data.
