The man discovered he had been paid nearly £150,000 for a month’s work (!) instead of the usual £450. The unnamed staff member at Consorcio Industrial de Alimentos in Chile did initially raise the eye-watering overpayment for May with his manager who then flagged it to HR.

By law the guy is not obliged to pay back the money, so the charge of misappropriating fund will not stand. The company made a mistake and the company has to pay the price, not the worker who is only morally obliged to pay back the money.
