I'm reading some of the "trigger laws" for abortion for different states and some of them are so draconian, it is like reading about a third-world country government. Felonies for a woman seeking an abortion even if she was impregnated via rape.

Trigger laws where heavy legal obligations are imposed based on hypothetical outcomes seem like an incredibly bad development. Disappointingly I haven't seen any effort to challenge the validity of such legislation.
