Guns are safe. People aren't. This would not have happened if Baldwin had followed the four basic rules of gun safety.

Guns are as safe as the production quality of the gun / bullets combined with the experience and diligence of the shooter. They can be extremely unsafe or very safe depending on those factors. I keep hearing people blame Baldwin and these people obviously have no knowledge of

a properly run movie set. There are professionals hired specifically to check the guns and make sure that the talent knows precisely what the current condition of the gun is. Depending on the talent can be dangerous because they deal with weapons that may be complex, etc.

with or touching a gun on a production set. They are paid for their professionalism in making sure the gun is in a specific condition before handing that gun to the talent. When "cold gun" is announced, that means a professional has verified the gun has no propellent / explosives

Thanks for taking the time to weigh in. Still many unanswered questions as the investigation proceeds. Baldwin was the producer as well as the star. At the end of the day, he is still responsible for everything that goes on, including the personnel. As always, time will tell.
