Also, what are some decent 10Gbe switches? Need 24-48 ports. Any recommendations in the 2.5-5k range?

Depends on exactly what you want, but you can spend a LOT less than that. I'm personally a big fan of MikroTik, and you'd want the CRS326-24S+2Q+RM from them.
