I am going to propose that we redefine a second to be slightly longer so that there are 65,536 seconds in a day so that we can represent the second in a day with a 16 bit int. This is the most sensible thing to do since otherwise we'd have to use a 32 bit int to store the second.

Also, I'd like to suggest we refine the day to be slightly longer so that there are 255 days in a year so that the day of the year can be stored in an 8 bit int.
