Regarding Pushshift removal requests -- we are working on the ability for Reddit users to use Oauth to sign in to Pushshift to process their own removal requests and also to opt out of future data gathering. I just want people to know that we do take these requests seriously.

If your Reddit account was deactivated and you make a request for removal for that account, we will still accommodate you and honor your request. We have no way to prove the account was yours, so we rely on the honor system and will still process the removal request.

have you considered a much simpler system where anyone can just submit a username and pushshift automatically rechecks all their content and deletes it if it's deleted on reddit? If they delete something on reddit, then it can be deleted on pushshift

no need for a complicated oauth setup, or tracking optouts, and neatly handles the deleted account question
