When you write a program that takes 14 hours to do a complex computation on 10+ terabytes of data and 14 hours later it informs you that you made a small syntax error and never get your results.

I bet it would have only taken 1-2 hours in Rust. In fact, it would probably just be I/O bound at that point.

I did hit a point today where I had to turn down refresh rate on a progress bar because stdout blocking was causing some lock contention when I cranked things up to a few hundred tasks. I think that technically counts as I/O bound? :D
