Unless some #vision #camera folks have better ideas, I guess it's m digging into OpenCV python wrappers tomorrow. Overkill, but it seems like it's what the Coolkids™ these days are doing.

Yeah, that's why I've been looking for decent alternatives. I'm just doing still/frame captures with minimal processing at the moment, but I think I can get better cam control vs fswebcam or bit-bashing ffmpeg. Also I've found a couple decent code samples to start hacking

What's really fun is when you get into full video capture and being able to track an object like a pencil, etc.

lol I'm starting small. After this maybe a camera trap, unless I can hitch a ride for a longer duration high-altitude flight.
