Look at all these accounts with incorrect join dates -- there are probably hundreds more.

Yes! Could it be that you get the right date if you request the profile again? I've seen this too but never dug to find out what's happening

Yes. My guess is that the value was corrupted somehow and this is the default. It's literally zero in epoch time.
