Researchers who have experience with using Gab's website -- does their search simply not work? When doing a search for "Trump" or other key terms, the front end only returns user accounts and/or groups. I don't see any actual posts returned from a search.

FYI: Gab forked their code from Mastodon. If it still uses the original Mastodon search code it is restricted to searching for display names, user names, and posts that use hashtags you search for.

If they changed the search functions in their forked code, than because Mastodon is GPL, Gab had to publish the full source code of their derivative work. Might be clues as to what's going on there.
