Do you think Trump's Twitter ban will eventually cause a reduction of Twitter tweet traffic?
Also, do you think we will see a mass exodus of extremists from Twitter due to the ban?

Extremist need confrontation so maybe they will stay here but also go to the other platforms.

Definitely the biggest natural experiment on deplatforming we’ve ever seen
Closest similarities (although on a much smaller scale) I can think of are the Reddit bans discussed in this paper:

It seems like Twitter already exodused about 100k accounts. I fear most of them will come back. They will have to be removed some more times.
I don't think that Trump's removal will have a significant impact in the long run, but you probably have better data to predict that.

I'd think the decrease in coordinated bot activity (RTs, replies, & likes) would be significant. Interesting to see what % of his followers go dead... should call them Botzis 😬

I wonder what it will do for advertisers - how many ads get served to Bots/Trolls? Could the platform become more lucrative with a higher quality membership?
How many people have not joined or left Twitter because it's been a haven for extremists, stalkers, etc.?

Twitter is a good platform, it is effective social tech. No one is going away who wants to put their finger on the scales of public opinion.

I imagine temporarily, but unless they're serious about dealing with their spam/click farming/whatever user vs willful misleading of shareholders, I'm not gonna hold my breath
