I've found it to be difficult to get global weather data via an easily searchable API -- so Pushshift will start collecting weather data including historical weather for 10,000+ weather locations globally (starting next year).
The goal is to have 50+ years of reliable weather

data available for researchers including real-time weather monitoring based on lat / long coordinates and city names.

Is there collected forecast data as well? It would be interesting to see if predictive meteorology has improved.
