Experimental Rock sounds right! Yeah, I believe that's a genre.
Experimental rock might be closest, but I'm not sure how to include almost all his albums (Project and solo) are thematic. And they're sound engineering masterpieces.
(in full disclosure I own like 7 albums lol)
