That was a fun bug. Nginx kept failing to proxy to a back-end server and I was tearing apart code trying to figure out why. Turns out that the drive nginx was logging to ran out of space.

nginx doesn't say, "hey, I'm out of space you idiot!" -- instead it was throwing errors saying the back-end proxy was failing.
