So, very interesting that this account is restricted, is a friend of Lea and was created on 13th July 2020 at 22:49:17UTC, while Lea was created 13th July 2020 at 22:23:03 UTC
Technically it should be possible to get a list of all accounts created within a certain time frame with the following caveats:
1) The range of time would need to be small.
2) User ids use Twitter's "Snowflake" implementation so all possible ids can be scanned.
If the original user deletes their account, we wouldn't be able to see that account. Basically we would only be able to see active accounts (active meaning not suspended, removed, etc.)
What time frame are you interested in exactly? (How large is the frame?)
Probably an hour or two.
This popped up in connection with a small nascent fake acct network that appeared a couple of weeks ago, & I spotted yesterday.
But I've wondered about this for a while, as we often find block-created fakes in largeish follower lists
They rarely seem to cover more than an hour or two, but that might be a large span in terms of volume of accts?
Anyhoo, appreciate you answering - I know you're a busy guy.
Indeed but I try to make time for important projects. This script is actually one I've been meaning to get around to. I already have the logic to find tweets by id so it should be fairly trivial to adapt this for user lookups.
Would this script help your research?
to see if he has already created something like this. If not, I think we should definitely write some code because it could be very useful for bot analysis.
