Light pollution is the worst. I live just south of Baltimore but there is so much light pollution on the Northeast seaboard.

I'd have to go to the far tip of long island to get some marginally dark sky and that's like a 2-3hr drive.. did it once years ago and the glow from NYC in the west was absurd on the camera long exposure

I have a story related to this. I grew up in this area and I never really got a chance to see the night sky with no light pollution. When I moved out to Colorado, a friend and I drove to Phoenix, AZ. That trip meant that we would drive all the way down Colorado into New Mexico...
