I feel the sense of slowly ramping up fear that refuses to ramp down... Has it hit swap already? Did it crash yet? Am i trapped in a sick version of the halting problem?

Running a huge hours long job and then starting to question if you estimated the memory usage correctly while it slowly eats up the remaining RAM.

I made it with ~ 5% RAM to spare. Swap is off on this server. If this server needs to start using swap, it's all over anyway.

Swap is sorta the kiss of death anyways, I think the vast majority of things that I've written, if they sneak to swap somehow, they'll explode badly before the end, and guaranteed before saving a checkpoint
