Hey -- I looked into Parler and it does actually have an API on the back end. Just poking around, I see the search functionality does tie to a private API endpoint -- most likely the other features all use the private API.
So it could theoretically be ingested!

Also, I don't know if it is just broken for me, but I don't see any public timeline data? Also, it doesn't appear to let you search by terms either. It seems really limited and flaky.

It might be because you don't follow anyone? I had to follow people to see a timeline. And yea, the search seems to be limited to users and hashtags.

Yeah that's what confused me because with Twitter, you don't need to follow anyone to see public tweets.
Do you know how heavily that site is used?

That's a good question. I've only been poling around since yesterday and it seems fairly active. The most popular accounts seem to have up to 300k followers, their posts get around 80k views but engagement (likes, comments, shares) is usually in the lower thousands (if at all).

It looks like the rate-limit is somewhere around 1 call per second (from what I can tell). It should be fairly easy to write a Python script to handle the authorization / logging in and then start pulling data. We could also combine accounts if we need a higher rate-limit.

I am not that familiar with how to do this in Python but I know how to do it in R.
