Back in the day when I ran with people that (responsibly) owned guns, the consensus was for home defense the first round or two is snake shot. If that doesn't persuade someone, lethal force is probably necessary.

Snake shot at close quarters will fuck a motherfucker up, but won't go thru drywall, which is my bigger fear. But I also figure if the first is snake and the second lethal, there's not a huge timing difference if you already have a bead

Turn around and discharge the taser at one of the officers. I don't know enough about Georgia law in this situation to argue whether the shooting was justifiable, what I can say is that this situation should not have escalated to someone's death.

Tasers have an effective range of 15 feet and are effectively one and done. Cops know this, they're trained in their use
IDK law their either, but the police chief resigned because of it before there was even an inquiry so I assume it was dead wrong

I believe one of the major issues in this circumstance is determining if the officers involved had a legitimate fear that their life was in jeopardy at the time of the shooting.
I believe it was a bad shoot but at the same time if they charge the officer with murder, it will

Set a high bar for the jury. My feeling is that a charge of voluntary manslaughter has a better chance of succeeding in a trial.
Have they pressed charges yet?
