That's not necessarily a bad thing. Configured correctly, WP is just fine.

Not knocking WP as it does a good job for what it does -- I'm just surprised a news website that claims 35 million viewers uses so many out-of-the-box packages / software.
They can't even get their facts straight, so I'm not so surprised.
