For the purposes of calculating the length of tweets, are compound emojis treated as a length of one?
For example: π© + π = π©βπ
So does Twitter treat π©βπas "one character?"

Each emoji is counted as two characters.
Also a newline is counted as a character but i don't think it was always that way.

Some common emoji have modifiers, like skin color which are actually more akin to Unicode accent marks
