I’ll never forgive anyone who questioned my total love of this nation. I will never forgive you. Take it up with God.

Just keep in mind that we're living in crazy times where a large percentage of the country is brainwashed into thinking Trump actually cares about them. We'll get through this -- but it will be a long road.

I know that, if it were someone who didn’t know me I’d be able to laugh them off, no matter who they were. But I love them, even though I know there is no future for us. Them, questioning my love of the country makes me question my trust of them

I feel your anger and frustration. It especially hurts when people you consider to be your friends fall victim to this type of stuff.
It's maddening and unfortunate -- but I do believe good will prevail.

I hope so, when you love it can’t be wasted, can it? I don’t care about me, I’m an old man, still my love can’t be that meaningless that someone would just assume it’s a selfish game. For me, it’s never about what I can get, it’s always abt what I can give. I’m bone dry as proof

Yeah -- you've been around the block and you've seen plenty of administrations come and go. You know how fucked up this one is and equally how fucked up it is that other Americans would question our love of country just because we don't agree that Trump should be a king.

My mistake is the classic one letting my personal affections get too outsized. Always a mistake in any situation. Particularly when your loyalty is questioned.

The true patriots are usually the ones that don't feel the need to advertise it.

I agree. Many mistakes on my part, hence the need even at this age to re-evaluate. Learning never stops, friend.
