What a douche! I had no idea XML enjoyed such a bad cult following. You make me feel like I'm in the medieval era, where anything against the cocky monarch's opinion is a blasphemy. And no, thank you. I am not going to shut up because you can't handle a harmless joke.

First, I don't understand how you got the idea that it makes me sound smart. Second, I am a Java developer and I have to use XML heavily. Tomcat, JBoss, Maven, Spring use XML as configuration file. What I said doesn't make my work any difficult, I have no idea how it affects you.

It's not a direct affect. But in my last job I had a requisition for SAXON denied because the SysAdmin concluded we already had Python. So as an expert I could not get the tools needed for the job because of stuff some layman keeps reading or hearing on social media.

(1/4) Okay, I don't have much context on what your use case is but I get your message. But here's the thing: the original post was a joke about an Yaml file being opened in a word processor. Almost none of the replies that follow are serious (or professional).

(2/4) Heck, if the insincerity wasn't apparent, there was even an exclamation mark at the end of my comment. Also, I don't even need to mention that I'm a fucking nobody and if anyone forms an opinion after reading that comment, it is him/her you need to talk to.

(3/4) All I would like to say is that, if you had believed there was any hint of seriousness in my words, you could have asked without being so rude. I have infact mentioned some of my pet peeves with regards to XML in comments where other people have raised their points.
