Here's an idea. Gather all followers for all major GOP and democrat politicians. Create a graph showing when those users were created and compare the two against one another. It will take about a week to get all followers for all senators, representatives and governors in the US.

An idea would be to put down a little github where you list all the accounts (the above json is great) and then have people claim a person and then go to work.
Results of 1 account would be a pull request.
