Here is a graph of all verified Twitter accounts mentioning "Merry Christmas" in a tweet. You can see differences in the spike up based on time zones.
This may be interesting to do next week for the New Year to see which areas geographically have more volume.

That is interesting! Why limit it to verified twitter accounts? Is it easier to get tweets from them in the data feed?

It's faster to get the data -- I'm working on all accounts but it will take longer to get all the data so I thought starting with verified would be fun.
