I can remember several past interviews that I've been through where my brain just completely locked up during the coding portion of the interview. I've been reading some horror stories from people just getting out of college but let me assure you -- even the very best programmers

will occasionally have really bad days / interviews. I've been on both sides of the desk, so in the past when I have interviewed people, I have tried to make them as comfortable as possible so that no one piece of the interview would disqualify someone.

it happens to the best people and sometimes you will just have a bad day. Also remember that an interview isn't just for the person employing you, it is for you to look at their team and management to see if it is a right fit for your type of personality and what you want to do.
Replying to
I don't expect people to have the right answers all the time. I really do value and respect when people say, "I don't know but I will research it!" -- Being resourceful is probably right next to communication as the two most important things in IT and development.
