#reddit's ever growing SPAM issue. Over the past three days, 20 out of the top 25 most active subreddits (by comment volume) have been all SPAM.
There is currently more comment SPAM hitting #reddit than actual non-spam comments -- sometimes causing site traffic to spike 4x.
These spam issues degrade site-wide performance causing increased latency for users when making new comments with some users encountering 5xx errors when trying to submit comments during SPAM bursts.
