And we should be able to address diverse research questions, not limited to politics, journalism etc. Think of linguistic analyses for example. Data access that is close to the structure of the underlying database system would be necessary for this kind of research.

I have several API's available for Reddit data and I gather comments and posts in near real-time. We're working on expanding Telegram data. There are always ethical questions in my mind but I do honor removal requests from Reddit users. I feel that is the right thing to do.

When I gathered and published the Gab corpus, I considered that an adversarial relationship as Andrew was actively taking measures to block me from collecting data -- but my thoughts were that the data itself was important for research into online toxicity, etc.
