If a whistleblower had come forward to say Trump had privately told Xi he should launch an investigation into the Bidens, it'd be a huge story. That's what Trump just did publicly.
It's indefensible. Anyone who claims this is proper doesn't understand law, the Constitution and I'd doubt they understood what being "an America" really meant.

If there was evidence that Biden committed a crime, I would welcome an investigation THROUGH PROPER LEGAL AVENUES.
Asking world leaders to investigate your political opponent based off conspiracy theories is not the proper channels to use.

Again, the issue isn't whether or not the president can request an investigation, but rather the method in which Trump did it.
Asking heads of foreign states to investigate a political rival is egregious. Tying that request to favors goes well beyond that.
