I've used Trello / Jira and a bunch of others. Are you Agile / Waterfall / Hybrid / etc.?

Agile, mostly. We use Trello for general project management and now software dev, which is fine, I was just wondering if there are better options out there.. Which one did you like the best from the bunch?

Honestly Jira seems to be a fav for PM's but as a developer I was always partial to something leaner like Trello and using Github to track issues. That was just my preference, though.

I was going to say that Jira seems to be a favourite with devs, but as a PM I prefer something lighter like Trello. Perhaps Jira is like one of those meals couples keep eating because they both wrongly believe their partner likes it

This biggest problem for me was that working with Jira started eating so much of my time that I was turning into a manager instead of writing code and I'd rather be doing the latter. :)
Part of it might have been all the add-ons the PM's wanted to put into Jira. Plus when ...
... you get in a situation where you find yourself micromanaging all pieces of a project it just bogs down the entire process. But then again, this is a constantly evolving thing in the development world. Sometimes I think it comes down more to how people in a team work together.

I had the same impression as you, Bill! totally agree Jason, we really don't want to spend more time on managing a project instead of actually building it. an ideal tool would give you essential features, be quick and intuitive to work with, and support the full project cycle.
