There are discussions right now on grad student forums about the pros and cons of selling eggs vs taking out huge student loans just to survive grad school. This really isn't a sustainable system.

For those asking: someone did thankfully link to info about the process & medical risks of egg donations (fertility drugs & outpatient surgery.) But then a discussion ensued about whether their depression stemming from debt stress would disqualify them from donating ☹
