Today, one year ago, I interviewed at Google. It was a beautiful sunny day just like today. I remember how grumpy I was the night before from doubting myself. One week later I started teaching at UCLA which helped distract me while waiting for the news. It has been a great year!

Do you ever suffer from "impostor syndrome?" I hate that feeling and when it runs rampant -- especially right before an important interview, etc. Although I have heard it is apparently very common in our field. Also, it seems to affect the most capable people disproportionally.

All. The. Time. I started out fine and thought I would beat it since I've worked at other large companies but recently it has crept up. I finally realized what was going on (imposter syndrome) and had to make changes so I could get past it.
