Due to the implications of the new "Article 13" law passed by the EU, Pushshift may have to block all EU IP addresses from all services until I can more thoroughly investigate the implications this new law will have on Pushshift and my own liability.

Ok, I’ll bite. How does article 13 potentially impact it? You’re just grabbing stats, right?

#Article13 doesn't mean you can't tweet memes. It means YouTube can no longer steal from people.
But an even more useful thing would be blocking accounts on Twitter that repeat the same old crap. This would get rid of bots and weaken the far-right in one swoop

That's a great question -- I'm also ingesting actual comments and submissions and it's possible that there could be some type of liability there but I'm still investigating. The last thing I want to do is deny service to the EU.

Unlike the GDPR, article 13 is just a directive. It will take years for each individual country to implement the laws that should follow it. Right now you are completely safe, you don't need to block anyone.

The article 13 and 11 might have got accepted by the parlament but, they still need to get accepted by the council.
So its not too late; but regardless of that, even if it was, (touch wood)
you would need to wait 2 years before its implemented.
