It's too soon to speculate on a cause, but two brand new Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashes in a year can't be a coincidence. The cause of the first was already caused by a major engineering flaw.

It’s actually a software problem. MCAS is an anti-stall system. The MAX8 requires it because of the unusual mounting location of the engines (which makes it more fuel efficient). seattletimes.com/business/boein
