I am currently working on adding data ingest to get data from Twitter from politicians (both US and worldwide) so that it gets archived and is easily accessible.
Would there be any interest from people if I created search tools to scan and search tweets from political figures?

How would this differ from social listening tools such as Brandwatch, crimson hexagon, et al? Is it aimed to be public-facing?

It will be public-facing. I've used a lot of the tools you listed and found some functionality lacking. My goal is to make a much more comprehensive tool that also combines my other data sources so that you can track political figures over a larger "social media strata"

Interesting. Will you have enough funds to keep it free to use or how will it work financially? Sounds a worthwhile cause and very interesting 👍

I'd want to keep the basic functionality free. I think the best method to keep this self-sustaining (besides from donations) is to create a tiered service where offering different monthly plans would give additional capabilities, etc.

Journo/politicians Tier as well? 😊 let them keep track of themselves and each other...
or maybe there’s public funding to cover at least a part of it?
A reliable service will quickly get costly to run I think.

I am definitely adding journalists and major media outlets! That's a huge important part.

Have you seen the work done by on ? Not strictly the same but might fall into a similar area. Also, not sure how far you’d like to take this but for example who puts together could be someone else to chat to. Just a suggestion 😊
