I use the Reddit API (specifically their /api/info endpoint) and collect comments and posts as they are made in real-time (0-2 second lag generally)

If you need more detailed info, I can share some code with you -- if you are interested in getting started. All Reddit comments and posts have ids that are base 36 representations of integer ids -- and they are sequential.
