If the activity stays like it has it is far away from people. We can't tell how stable the remaining edifice is though.

Do satellites help at all? Are you able to see shifts in positions in the ground? Infrared signatures? Magnetic flux variations? Any other cool science tools on satellites, etc.

We could look for faulting if any is on the surface but other than that I don't know how to gauge the internal stability from afar.

Hopefully enough eyes will be on it. I agree about faulting. Perhaps more of the island could fail. I hope the human beings around the strait will be ok.

Eruptions tend to be accompanied by a lot of cloud, hindering satellite visibility. Magnetics ... hmmm. Wouldn't satellites be too far up to detect any relevant changes? Aeromagnetics would take a brave pilot. And pre-existing maps.
