Showing full Pacific travel time plots like this is extremely irresponsible given that the warning (recently cancelled) was for the Cook Inlet area only.

Out of curiosity, what real-time data can scientists use to cancel a tsunami warning? Are they using data from ocean buoys? Is there any other real-time scientific instruments that are used?

Mostly buoy and land based tide data, yeah. I think this one in particular was cancelled because there was no sign of a wave at the Anchorage tide station operated by NOAA: tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/tsunami/plot.h
