Thanks to the amazing efforts of one of our data scientists, we have created a website to track toxicity on #Gab in real-time. The link is observatory.pushshift.io
This site will allow you to see new Gab content as it is posted to Gab.

This is great. Some have "(flagged as: {racist,anti-semitic})". How is that determined? Is that another model or algorithm?

Right now we are using the Perspective API to assign toxicity scores and for classification. We're currently in the early stages of this project and evaluating different models to gauge their effectiveness and accuracy. Given time and additional tweaks, the accuracy will improve.

Interesting project. We'll likely see more emerge. I don't know much about Perspective API (used to label toxic content), but this is digital humanities writ large. Hope diverse teams are involved. FYI

remember we were talking about Gab a few weeks ago? They’ve come up with this tool to look at what’s inside it without actually accessing the website (careful though, it’s nasty stuff)

so will the " toxicity" be what normal people think toxic or the twisted liberal mental illness thinking? Just asking for a friend.

This is amazing work!
Will you be rolling out a similar utility for Buzzfeed?

We had to temporarily password protect it due to Gab users trying to game the monitor. Sorry about that!
