I like Gab better than Twitter. I mute hate and see very little of it there. If you look for it it’s in every media. So you monitoring terroist in Facebook, Twitter, you tube? Do you monitor hate speec in music: rap, heavy metal etc? 1/2

He's comparing the amount of hate on Reddit and on Gab. There is clearly far more on Gab. "If you look for it its in every media" kind of obscures the relative differences in AMOUNT of hate present.

800k on Gab at 6% hate speech. Twitter with over 300mil and a 3% rate of hate speech. Which has more? 300k ISIS accounts on Twitter. I have been on Gab all day and I haven’t not 1 iota of hate speech. If you look for you can find it. I mute it

A) where are you getting those numbers? That the word most commonly associated with “oven” on gab is “Jew” suggests their bigot population is more than 6% B) saying that twitter has more hate speech because it has a larger user base is obviously absurd.

When running various data analysis on Gab content, we found that the top 1% of Gab users were responsible for slightly more than 60% of the content. This is much different than a site like Reddit where the top 1% make up 20% of the content (excluding active bots).

Again - these are great questions and I think that's definitely a possibility. We're still digging into the data and learning about it, but that hypothesis is a good one and probably close to the truth in some way. I'll definitely take a look at the data to see how many people ..

Another hypo -- Gab has a much higher frequency of propaganda bots than other sites.

That's another possibility -- I have been working to catalog and detect Reddit bots using various methods. Some of those methods might be applicable to detecting bots on Gab. I'll have to look at the data and see if that's likely.
