Awesome! Are the jpgs already this compressed when you get them? If I remember correctly, there is a bitrare setting for ffmpeg that you can adjust. It may default to a very low bitrate which causes a very blocky movie.

Part of it is because 15-minute sampling doesn't produce very smooth timelapse, but part could also be Twitter downsampling. I think the Youtube version looks better:

Yeah, I've had major issues with Twitter downsampling in the past, too. Not sure what is going on there.
